My rule of thumb is that if you couldn't use it in a print ad
without getting complaints, someone finds it unacceptable.

It's not like the manual has a list of banned words for thread titles and taglines. 

How I see it:

Minor curse words that you can get away with

Piss, crap, damn, hell, religious expletives, hax's mom, bitch, skank, slore, whore...

Unacceptable, bound to raise complaints

Fuck, shit, fag, racial slurs, references to reproductive organs (i.e. pussy, cock, etc. if used well enough)

Will probably get you killed if used around the wrong people

Racial slurs (especially, "nigger"), cunt

 

It all depends on how you say it, who you say it to, and how tired you are when you talk about it (I'm very tired).
