What's your favorite free online game?
I've spent way too much time playing this. 

desktop tower defense has wasted many an hour for me at work....

There was a game I played before that was a screen that kind of resembled atoms and when you click on one it shifts it so anyone next to it would move also and cause a chain reaction but I can't remember the name of it.

Nanaca Crash! has wasted plenty of my time at work. I even ended up mirroring it on my own site, and saving it to my personal drive at work, so I could waste more time playing it. My highest score is around 25k.

Jesus, why is this game so fun? I went through a couple times, but only managed to go 3499.47m. Am I supposed to be able to recognize which people give the good power-up and use the down boost to hit them? Similarly, do I use the up boost to avoid the stops?

Flash Element Tower Defense. I LOVE this one. I just got 59th place with a score of 70k. Strategy: Place weapons where they get two passes at the enemy (aka don't put any permanently in the middle). Only use cannons and upgrade the gold the first couple times. Everytime there's a boss or an air level, load up on extra weapons all over, but sell them off once the creeps pass so that you rake in money via the interest rate. 

What about the element towers? 

Sorry, the third upgrade (level 21) I do Fire, which I then use to eventually replace the cannons, then gold again, and the final upgrade I spent on water, as the last couple levels are fucking brutal. Also, it doesn't end on "The Last Level"... it ends one after that, which pissed me off because I sold almost everything before the end of "The last level." 

Hmm, your strategy seems to be working well.
Now if only I could pay attention when it says the next level is Air.

Why doesn't it let me pick where my dice get built up at the end of the turn?

It's also horribly rigged. Like when the computer's X number of dice attack my (Xx2) number of dice and win. Almost every time. Looks like it could be very quickly turned into a real board game, though...

I don't understand how this game has more than 20 minutes of replay value. Once you get to the point of having unlimited fuel, it gets really old really fast.

Haha, in uni we made sure we had Flash installed on the computers as "a lot of companies these days have Flash sites". 

I play the hell out of Gekisen, its a card based battle RPG type game, the only flaw is that it needs a discard option.
