So here's a new-ish game that several of my co-workers are playing and got me into. It's sort of like Travian, but seems to be a lot deeper (at least so far). It's free (although like most games these days, you can spend money on things if you want).
Sometimes it's the simple games that cause us the most grief. Jump. (via)

Bunny Invasion 2 is bursting with original content. 60 levels, over 2 hours of game-play, 10 cut scenes, 10 types of bunny, 3 bosses, 13 weapons to buy along with multiple upgrades for each weapon, 8 general upgrades, A trophy collection system, 58 in total, along with A HUGE amount of extras, 26 of which can be unlocked using the trophies.
And one of the upgrades is...Bunny AIDS? Oh my.
The idea of this game ( if it's OK for me to get pretentious for a minute ) was to kind of imagine this platonic form of the generic "really old platformer"*, like from the age of the 2600 and the Apple //, and then to try to take the world that these games described sort of "at face value". All those old games (for hardware reasons, of course) seemed to kind of take place in a world of floating neon blocks where faceless creatures slide endlessly back and forth for no reason. I wanted to imagine a world that was really just built that way.
Peep the video here. This one is a download (Windows & Mac), but well worth it. (via)
Don't worry, metagaming is all that matters.
